The Clients’ Support and Counselling Centre in Hospital Fatimah is unique because it is available in very few private healthcare establishments nationwide. The main objective is to provide health education information to enable patients with certain long-term medical conditions to have a better understanding of their illness and to modify their lifestyle so that they may enjoy optimal health.
Counselling services for the following are available, diabetes, stroke, HIV/AIDS, palliative care, inhalation device techniques, quit smoking and COPD counselling. Counsellors comprise trained and qualified nurses who are given healthcare briefings and updates from time to time.
Patients need to be referred to the counsellors by their respective physicians / doctors either as an inpatient or outpatient. Sessions with these patients or clients can be carried out by the bedside or at our Clients’ Support and Counselling Centre at Hospital Fatimah. The sessions can be arranged at a preferred time using the patient's preferred language. A nominal fee is usually charged and subsequent repeat or follow-up sessions can be arranged for free.
