Nursing School

The Hospital Fatimah School of Nursing is a private Nursing School in the state of Perak offering the Trained Assistant Nurse (State Enrolled Nurse) 24 months course. There has been a 100% pass rate tradition since its inception in 1994. The School takes in a limited number of students (not more than 20 per intake). Each student hence receives a considerable degree of personal attention, and this partly explains why the school attracts a large number of yearly applicants.

The Course

The Certificate of Nursing awarded at the successful completion of the course, is a recognised qualification awarded by the Malaysian Nursing Board. The qualification enables the Trained Assistant Nurse to supplement the roles of the State Registered Nurses as part of the nursing team. They are in big demand in private Hospitals, Nursing Homes and Clinics.

Training is a combination of classroom teaching and hands-on experience, which exposes them to Hospital nursing routines as well as community nursing. After successfully completing the two-year course, they are able to carry out a wide range of practical nursing skills.

The Requirements

The School organises for the two intakes per year in January and July. Candidates for the course must be between the ages of 18 - 28 years, with at least 4 SPM passes in Bahasa Malaysia, English, Science and Mathematics. Applications may be made in writing giving full details of their resume. Interviews are held in March & December each year.

Training Cost

The tuition fees for the course is at RM 5000 each year over a two-year period. Hostel facilities are also available for rental. The trainee may be self paying or the School may consider other arrangements by special agreement with the trainee’s sponsor. Bonding arrangements to sponsors are common and the School can provide information on the bonding arrangements, if requested.
